What is a Sail Yak?

Inspired by Polynesian multihulls, Hobie has designed 2 models of trimaran with 4 modes of propulsion, we use 3 of them. With the foot driven Mirage drive and a roller-furled sail, these boats will move along in any wind conditions. Use the paddle to move away from the beach or dock, drop your rudder, unfurl your sail and away you go. No fear of capsize here, stability is achieved with the outriggers or amas, one on each side of the main hull. The Hobie Islands are easy to handle and lots of fun.
